Blackdown Shepherd Huts attends the opening of The Fish
We were delighted to be invited to the opening of The Fish last week. The Fish is a truly magnificent hotel, part of the Farncombe Estate and sister hotel to Foxhill Manor and Dormy House. Located in the Cotswolds, near Broadway, this hotel is everything a countryside retreat should be. From amazing food, luxurious accommodation, attentive service, and incredible interior design, we are so proud to be associated with The Fish.
In May, five of our Brace shepherd huts will join three treehouses in the woods to create a very special hideaway.
Part boutique hotel, part adventure hideout, The Fish is an award-winning hotel and we’re really looking forward to the guests in our huts enjoying the new seafood inspired restaurant by Chef Martin Burge, the breakfasts, and relaxing splendour. The Blackdown ‘Hideaway Huts’, as they will be known, will add a sense of fun and adventure into this retreat experience. The Fish management have applauded our huts, saying that they ‘embody the youthful and adventurous ethos for which The Fish is now known.’ We wholeheartedly agree! The interiors are designed by us and our resident designer Marina Morris. Each hut will have its own distinctive feel, inspired by nature and botanicals, along with bespoke Tom Raffield lights and tailor-made William Holland baths that will sit against a backdrop of locally designed fabrics and wallpapers printed in the Cotswolds.
During the opening night we were treated to a guest experience tour. We were overjoyed to see how they’ve created a luxury style both inside and out, including additional family-friendly features. There is a screening room with capacity for up to 15 people showing a range of films, and they mentioned a soon-to-launch ‘film and supper’ club for both Fish residents and locals to enjoy will run monthly, kicking off in May. Meanwhile an eight-obstacle dog agility course and kids play zone created using recycled wood from across the estate will keep little ones and furry friends amused.
Once complete, the new look Fish is set to provide stylish travellers with a much needed natural antidote to the hustle and bustle of everyday life, bestowing accessible luxury with uncompromised style.
We’ll be updating here with progress on the huts and share them in their new home soon!
