UNIQUE SHEPHERD HUT HIDEAWAY GLAMPING EXPERIENCE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT
Located on Isle of Wight are four traditional self-build shepherd huts that have been designed to create a unique glamping experience.
Into the Woods Glamping is owned by Fiona and Will Headington and they have created a holiday let unit called ‘Shepherd’s Hideaway’ using four Blackdown Shepherd Huts, instead of the usual single hut. Each of the huts is a different room and they are all set around a private decked area.
Based on the north coast of the Isle of Wight, just 7 mins from both ferries’ arrival ports, the four wooden shepherd huts were all constructed by Will on site using Blackdown Shepherd Huts’ self-build hut option.
Fiona explains: ‘Shepherd’s Hideaway is truly different holiday accommodation and we have done something unique by putting the four shepherd huts around a secluded decking area to use as one unit. Each room is in a beautiful, hand built, luxurious oak clad shepherd’s hut which are exclusive use to the guests.’
One hut is a 16ft master bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom; another is a 4x bunk beds room with ensuite bathroom; and the other two huts are conjoined to create a larger living room/kitchen/diner with full facilities. All of the huts are heated, and hot tub hire is also available for added luxury.
The living room and kitchen area are heated by a wood-burning stove and there is a cosy eating area with dining table and benches, as well as sofas to relax on. Glamping in true style means using the wood-burning stove or gas hob to cook, and French doors lead to the private deck for al fresco eating. Fiona has created an eco-friendly environment with eco-products and a composting area.
With an interior design of a Nordic/alpine look with lots of wood, fur, slate, red and green, the huts have the exciting nature and cosiness of a wooden cabin retreat.
Fiona adds: ‘We have created a luxury glamping experience at Into the Woods Glamping with something for everyone. Our Blackdown Shepherd Huts are cosy and well equipped, with comfy beds, power showers, and Wi-Fi to keep everyone happy. There is purposefully no TV, but a selection of games and books instead, to encourage conversation and downtime.’
Perfect for families with children, The Hideaway has is a paddock and woods for children to play in, along with rustic wooden swings and rings.
Glamping holidays can be booked at Into the Woods via their website, Instagram and Facebook.
