Back in 2018, we caught up with Chloe Dennis, a beautician based on the edge of Dartmoor. Chloe had a dream to create a comfortable working space that would truly match the location and fit with her brand perfectly. It would be a space that would reflect the high quality relaxing beauty treatments she offered, compliment her rural farming heritage and offer those staying within the stunning barn conversions her family had completed in 2016 an even better experience.

In 2023 we revisited Chloe following the most wonderful update from her…
Twice as Nice
With the business positively blooming and a desire to offer more treatments and even more space, Chloe wanted to expand her original dream. She’d seen the Brace huts from Blackdown and so got in contact with us once more to discuss how she could expand her salon without using a second standalone hut. The solution was to join another self-build Tasker hut to her original and build her own Brace hut.
Spring has Sprung
Today, this slightly offset brace sits in the landscape as if it had always been built this way. Overlooking the lake and decorated in subtle natural colours that reach outwards to greet its peaceful setting, it’s simply the most exquisite set of treatment rooms you are likely to come across outside of conventional four walls. The front, and original self build hut, now offers a comfortable reception seated area together with a manicure station, a wood burner and an array of tempting gifts to purchase. The more recent hut expands the space to offer a charming pedicure station and then through to a private treatment room that we think is guaranteed to send your eyes into a state of subliminal relief before you’ve even laid down on the bed.
Did we tell you about the underfloor heating? Toasty toes moments to savour.
