Have you ever fancied a little bit of heaven in your back garden? Your own little country retreat, perfect for relaxing in? Well, the Tribe family have created just that, and they couldn’t be happier with their self-build shepherd’s hut – it’s one of the family!
About the Tribe family
Sarah and Mark have lived in the Cotswolds for 5 years with their dog called Ben and cat called Boris. Their three kids live in London and visit regularly.
Why have we got a shepherd’s hut
We needed some more space for chilling out and an extra bedroom. We researched online and Blackdown seemed the most likely supplier, so we came to visit their workshop/showroom. Having then seen the quality of the product and how well organised it was an easy decision to place an order for a self-build.
About our hut
The hut will be used for sleeping (2 people). It has lighting and a wood burning stove so can be used all year round. We intend to install a small fridge and kettle.
I did all the painting of the internal and external woodwork using Farrow & Ball paints, which blends nicely with the green wriggly tin cladding and Cotswolds stone walling. We separately purchased and installed the wood burning stove but chose a make recommended by Blackdown. The oak fold-down table was designed and made by a local carpenter.
We love our shepherd’s hut because……
It’s just a comfortable and relaxing space to be in. They look attractive and blend in well with our countryside.
We rate Blackdown!
Excellent pre and post-delivery service.
We would recommend our hut!
The quality of all the materials from the cast iron wheels to the oak steps are first class. Good attention to detail in the design and all the materials and fixings, with spares, were delivered in one consignment. I would recommend Blackdown for their first class design and the quality of their shepherds huts.
